Author’s Note: This essay will show my understanding of comparing two different characters from different books.
You can compare yourself to anyone you want. But how many similar things will you find between yourself and the other person? My guess would be not many. You are your own person and there is only one of you. Even though you might find similar things about the other person I’m sure there will be many more things that are different. So be your own person make the world a special place and be yourself!
When Hope first started writing the journal she was young, maybe 10 years old. You could tell from reading the journal that she was young because of the word choice and how everything was written. But throughout the journal her word choice and grammar increased. You could tell that she was getting older and her point of view was growing different each and every day. In the book the Notebook, Allie one of the main characters also changed her point of view. Her point of view was becoming different not because of her getting older but because a person had made her see things a different way. Maybe that’s why Hope’s point of view changed but I believe that it was mostly because she was getting older, wiser, and more mature.
As Hope got older not only did her word choice and grammar improve her point of view did also. When your little you don’t realize how important things are. So, when Hope’s father went to fight in the war when she was little she didn’t think anything of it. Hope just thought that her father had to go and fight and he would be back in a couple of months. But what she didn’t realize when she was little was that her father could have been killed and never came back. But when her father left for the second time and she was older she realized how things could turn out.
Even though so many people are different you can always find similar and different things about them. For example, Allie from the Notebook is very different from Hope but they also have some things in common with each other. One thing that they have in common is that they both wrote journals. They won’t for the same reason but they both put their thoughts on paper. Other than that this is one of the only things that I found in common with Allie and Hope.
Overall Allie and Hope had many comparisons but also were unique in their own ways. Just like everyone else is. We have many things in common with other people but we are our own special unique people. Your personality is the biggest thing about who you are, so don’t be shy about it let it burst out! Just like Allie and Hope did.

How things would have worked out
Author Note: This piece of writing will show my understanding of text structure. And shows how different conflicts could have been different or turned around.
Hope’s family was poor, and getting poorer by the day. With her little sister being born and her father and brother off fighting in the war, they had to use their money very wisely. When Hope went to the market to get food a man gave her a white note. It said “Hello, Just wanted to let you know that your husband is going to be coming home.” Everyone was very excited because he could start to bring their family shop back up and running. They really needed the money.
After Hope’s father got home he shortly got a notice that all men in the house hold needed to go and fight because the British were coming to take over their town. This was the climax in the story because he had just gotten home and with the note they sent it looked like it was going to be a hard battle. Would Hope end up losing her father for her own freedom? Even though Hope’s brother had also just gotten home, her mother did not want him leaving again to go and fight. So, they kept him hiding, they couldn’t risk two people in their family getting hurt. The reason why this is the climax of the story is because once Hope’s father goes off to fight there is return (“The point of no return.”) But also, keeping Hope’s brother in hiding. Once they do this there is no turning back.
The time zone that this book was written in was during the revolutionary war. People wanted their freedom and didn’t want to lose it. So, to do that, all the men from each house had to go and fight. Weather they wanted to or not. This is what led up to the main climax of the story, Hope’s father leaving again to fight. But this time for an even better reason. Even though he could get hurt or even killed.

Hope’s Point of view vs. Her mother’s
Author’s Note: This piece of writing will show that point of view is different than other peoples and how they see things.
Everyone had their own point of view on things. Let’s say you were a stay at home mom that took care of the house and children, you point of view would be very different than a man fighting in the war. Each person has a different role in life. Their role can and does impact their point of view.
Every day when Hope would right in her journal she would say what she did each day. She didn’t have the best life but her family made the best out of it. Her father was gone serving in the war and her older brother was off working. But her mother and little sister were home with her. Sense the book was a journal that Hope wrote, it was written in her point of view. For example when she went to the market to get meat a man came up and gave her a white paper. She ran it home to her mother and gave it to her. The paper said that her father was going to be coming home. Her mother jumped with joy. Hope was just excited to see her father and went on to make dinner. If this were written in her mother’s point of view I think that it would have been written much differently. The reason for this is because everyone has their own point of view and thoughts on things.
If the scene where Hope’s father had to leave for war were to be told by someone else, like her mother it would be told completely different than what Hope’s point of view was. Yes, I’m sure they were both concerned with his safety but Hope’s mother had a different point of view then her. I think Hope’s mother would have been sad that her husband had to leave yet again but he had to go, he needed to fight. I’m sure that she needed to act that everything was going to be ok because she didn’t want her children to be worry about him. A role that she needed to play was a strong brave mother. I think she fit the part well.
You have a role to play in life; don’t worry about making the role right. Just go with the flow and see what happens. Even though your point of view is different than other people’s you will always remember your memories in one way or another, good or bad. So, keep a journal just like Hope did so you can remember every day of your life.

Notebook Review!
Authors note: This piece of writing will include what I thought of the book and why I thought it. Also, note that this might give away parts in the book.
Do you believe in true love? Well in the book The Notebook Ali and Noah fall in love when they were very young. They thought it was meant to be. But once Ali’s mother found out that she was seeing a boy that wasn’t fitted in their life style she made her stop seeing him. He sent her letters everyday but Ali’s mother never let her read them. Would this be terrible not to talk to the person that you truly love?
Through out the book many conflicts happen between Ali and Noah. Some of the major ones that happened were that the police went looking for them when they went together into an old house, Ali moving away and getting engaged to another man, and Ali and Noah dying together.
When Ali moved away and didn’t get to read the letters that Noah has sent her she thought that he didn’t love her anymore. If I were her I would think the same thing but then again she didn’t know that her mother was taking the letters from her before she could read them. I don’t think this is right because she should have cared what her daughter wanted, which was to continue to fall in love with Noah. But her mother didn’t like him and thought that she shouldn’t be around someone like him. After Ali found out what her mother had done she realized how strong her feelings were for Noah, but it was too late because she was getting ready to get married. Ali wanted to tell Noah and drove to his house. She didn’t know where he lived until she saw a picture of him in the newspaper, saying that he had fixed up the old house just like he said he always would. I know for a fact that I would never have the guts to tell a guy that I care about that I was going to be getting married. I would feel terrible! What if he still had feelings for me or thought I was dead because we lost touch with each other?
In the end of the book Ali and Noah ended up getting married to each other. They fell in love yet once again. Ali had written a book to Noah about their journey together, and gave it to Noah as a present. Over the years Ali hadn’t aged well and couldn’t remember anything or anyone. Even the people she loved, like Noah. This is very sad because of everything that they went through together and she couldn’t remember a thing. But Noah didn’t give up on her. He would go and read the book to her that she wrote. One day when Noah went and read the book to her she started to remember, and remembered Noah. He was the happiest person ever, but then her memory kicked out of whack and she couldn’t remember anything again. Noah felt terrible and that night went into bed with her and slept with her.
That very night both Ali and Noah died together. I guess every love story has to end some way or another. But the way they had it would be the way I would. Expect the fact that the person I loved wouldn’t remember me. But, you always have the memories that you will have forever!

Johnny from the Outsiders
Author’s Note: Throughout this piece you will read about Johnny, and everything that happened to him. Also, why I think he is a dynamic character.
Have you ever read the book The Outsiders? Well if you did, you would probably know that Johnny is one of the main characters in the book. I personally believe that he is the most important character. The reason this is because he has changed the most threw out the book. Johnny has a family and lives at home but he doesn’t like his parents, he says that all they do is yell at him. Sounds like a fun life, huh?
Well, some things that you should know about Johnny would be that he is a greaser, very poor, and is best friends with Ponyboy. I can relate to him, but I wouldn’t say that I’m a greaser. Greasers are a group that is poorer than other people are. I’m not saying that I come from a rich household, but if I was in the book The Outsiders I would be considered a Soc. Just like Bob, the guy that Johnny killed. I don’t think that Johnny would have killed him unless he needed to. Which he did, he killed him for his own safety. So, he used his self defense.
There are two types of characters, dynamic and static. Johnny would be a dynamic character. Throughout the book Johnny changes a lot, he realizes that killing someone doesn’t leave a good impression on you; he has bad luck, and really doesn’t like to get into trouble. In the beginning Johnny was a good kid that liked to stay out of trouble. But he was always at the wrong place at the wrong time. Where ever he would go, the Socs would also be there, and let’s just say that is ever ends well. But in the end, he ends up killing someone for his self defense. At the time I’m sure he thought it was a good idea but if he were still alive to think about it I’m sure he would feel terrible for killing him. Also, when the church burnt down people thought that he burnt it down, sense he was one of the people in it at the time. But he was really going in to save the children that were still in the burning church. Sadly, he got burned very badly and ended up in the hospital.
The night the Ponyboy and Johnny went to the movie, changed Johnny’s life. They had picked up some girls that had happened to be, Socs. And Bob (The main Soc.) Found out and was not happy with them. After Johnny and Pony left the movie they left and went to the park. Ponyboy noticed that Bob and 4 other Socs. Were coming towards them, he asked Johnny why they were at the park too. Johnny said “I don’t know. But I bet they are looking for us. We picked up their girls.” Ponyboy and Johnny got into a fight with them and Bob had started to pull Ponyboy into the kids’ pool. Johnny got very angry and took out his switchblade, and killed Bob. Your actions are what make events in life happen. You might not think that your actions are important but they really are. Johnny never intended to kill Bob, but his actions ended up killing someone. Another action that affected Johnny was him going into the church to save the children from the burning church. He wanted to change his life around. He didn’t want to be the bad kid that he was. Johnny thought that if he went into the church and saved the kids people wouldn’t think bad things about him anymore. Even though after killing someone I don’t think that people would think differently about you.
As the book went on, I noticed that Johnny really wanted to change his life. But it was hard with the people that we hung around. In the end when he died the last thing he heard was say gold. Is Your Family Important to You?
Author’s note: This is about why family is important, and also gives examples from the book The Outsiders relating to the characters.
What does the definition of family mean to you? To me it means having someone always there for you and people that care about you. You might think of those people as your friends, and they are your family you could say. For example in the book The Outsiders Johnny was considered that his parents didn’t care about him, so he told everyone that his family was the greasers. If you have a hard home life would you do the same thing?
After Darry’s parents died, he decided to drop out of school and take care of his brothers. He cares so much for them that he didn’t want them just to end up on the streets because there would be no one to take care of them. What Darry did was very considerate of him, considering that Darry was almost a socs. The reason that he was almost a socs was because he got good grades, has good friends, and also was the star football player and took it serious. Darry never did drugs, drank, and never smoked. I can relate to Darry, after my dad died and I got taken away from my mom my aunt and uncle took me in because they wanted what was best for me. Just like Darry did for Sodapop and Ponyboy.
Even though Johnny had an actual family at home he didn’t consider them as his family. He thought that his family hated him. When Johnny was in the hospital his parents came to visit him and Johnny told the nurse “Get them outta here all they are going to do is yell at me.” If I was him I would have done the same thing because he is already in sever conditions, I wouldn’t be in the mood to get yelled at. Or see the people that I thought hated me.
Although most people think as family just as family, think a little harder about the meaning of family. Does your actual family fit the defection? If so, you must have a family that love and cares for you. Unlike Johnny had, I’m sure his parents did love him but from what I could tell they didn’t care about him. They didn’t seem to want to take care and watch after him. Personally I don’t think this is right, because all parents should want to love and care for their children. That’s why they wanted to have you. It’s too bad that Johnny had to die; he could have taken advice from people to talk to his parents and figure everything out between them. Now that Johnny is gone, I think that his parents would care more because they weren’t there to stop him from saving the kids and didn’t overly care that he had ran away to the church.
Some times people think that people don’t care about them. I think everyone has had that feeling sometime in their life, I know for a fact that Johnny did. But, I also have felt that way. It’s hard living with my cousins because they are my aunt and uncle’s actual children, and I’m not, most of the time they don’t treat me fair. Letter to Dalls
Dear Dallas (Dally),
You are the leader of the Greasers. People look up to you, which means you probably have a lot of things of your mind. I’m sure your scared because you don’t want to mess up on whatever your doing because then people won’t look up to you anymore. You must have a lot of stress on your mind. Even though you might be scared to mess up, in the end you always will learn from your mistakes. I wanted to say that I think that you are a good leader. I think this because you are wiser and can make better choices then other people can. For example, Johnny killed Bob. Even though he was doing it as self defense, I’m sure you wouldn’t have done that. But then again you also have a record with the police that go a long way back.
Was growing up on the streets of New York hard? I’m sure you got into a lot of fights considering your background with the police. How did you manage to get arrested at the age 10? I would have been in school or with my friends or family. I know that you don't really have a family besides the Geasers, from what I can tell your home life isn't the greatest. You like to consider the Geasers as your family because they are the closest thing that you have to a family. It's ok, I know how you feel. When I was little my dad got shot and died and my mom has problems so I moved in with my aunt and uncle. most of the time it's a joy living there but sometimes it's not so fun. So then I consider who is really my family. And I just say that my friends are because My friends are very important to me.
Anyways, I just wanted to say keep being the strong, fearless, smart leader that you are being today. Even though problems might pop up I'm sure you will do the best to help who ever might be in trouble. Maybe it will be Johnny and Ponyboy.

Are you proud of your country?
Yes, I am proud of my country because we have more freedom then other countries do. We have something called freedom of speech. That means that if we have a different opinion about something we can speak our minds. Unlike other countries when if you speak your mind you could possibly be put into jail, which I think is terrible. Just because you think a different way doesn’t mean you need to be put into jail. I’m sure there are other people that think that way as well but just don’t have the guts to say anything about it.
Even though I am proud of my country there are also some things that I am not so proud of. Some of those things would be that because we as a country are in dept and can’t pay the people that work. So, those people had to get laid off. This isn’t a good thing because those people could have a family that they need to feed and have a stable home for. Another thing that I am not proud of would be that if we don’t have supplies that we need we have to barrow from other countries. Bullying
How would you feel if you made someone feel bad about them self? I would feel terrible. But think about this, would you stop someone if they were making fun of a person? Would you be the bigger person or would you leave it to someone else? Would you really want to go to school the next day if you knew kids would just make fun of you? Well, bullying is something that kids shouldn’t need to worry about when they go to school. They should be able to go learn and have fun with their friends!

Why School Should Start Later
Author’s note: I strongly believe that school should start later for many types of reasons.
There are many explanations why school should start later but still end at 2:45pm. I know I’m not the only one that wants this. Many kids would think they could sleep in then, even though they still have school in the morning. That would be great! I know I would like it. But would you too?
First of all I think kids then wouldn’t be exhausted during their classes. If kids got more sleep during the night then they could be more interactive during class. The only terrible thing about this is kids might not go to bed at the same time. They might think of it as “oh school is starting later so now I can stay up later at night.” I know some kids already stay up late and you can tell when they do. They usually sit in class and stare, or rest their head on their arms and desk, and on rare occasion some kids might even fall asleep.
Secondly, kids would stay more focused rather than spacing out during class. Teachers can tell when kids are tired because they usually will just stare at the ground or out the window. Some teachers know students more than others do. So let’s say that I am a student that is always happy and loud and interactive in Social Studies. And I have a ton of homework and sports after school and I don’t get to bed until 11:00pm. I would be very tired since I wake up at 5:30am. My guess would be that I would be quiet and not interactive during class. Also, my teacher would notice that I’m not really into class.
Even though, students are in after school sports and clubs they would have more energy if they got more sleep. But then again that brings us back to not knowing what time kids would go to bed, saying that school would start later. Some kids have enough energy for after school sports but once Thursday and Friday come around I get really tired and it’s hard for me to focus. But that’s just me.

He's with Me
Author’s Note: This is an extended ending to the book “ He’s With Me” It also tells what the climax is and why.
After Jake told Lexie that he actually wants to date her instead of just pretend to date Lexie was in shock. She couldn’t believe that Jake would want to be with a girl like her. Lexie thought that she was ugly, shy, and fat “why would a guy date me, a girl like that?” Jake didn’t think Lexie was any of those things, the thought she was beautiful and everything that he ever wanted in a girl he would date.
Colin, Lexie’s brother even got a girl friend too. Her name is Sally. Every weekend they would go on double dates. It worked out quite well, even though going on a date with your brother would be a little weird. But since Lexie and her brother are twins they are very close with each other, and thought it was a great idea.
Over the next year or so Jake has to move. He tells Lexie and she is very unhappy and sad because she knows that she won’t be able to see Jake. Colin was even sad to because he was going to miss his best friend. The climax of the story is when Jake finds out that he has to move. The reason for this is because Jake really can’t do anything about it, and has to leave his friends, family, and even his girlfriend.
After Jake moves, he and Lexie keep a long term relationship. But in the end it didn’t work out. They couldn’t be together with actually not seeing each other. All they wanted to do is be together. So, they take a break from each other which weren’t easy for either of them. But in the end it paid off. Jake ended up moving back! He and Lexie got back together and continued their lives with each other.

Baseball
Tonight my cousin Matt has a baseball game. I like going to watch them because I usually bring friends. I also like going to his games because Nick Knoke's little sister always wants me to come and play games with her. I find that super cute. usually she wants to play red rover because last year when we played with a ton of people I was holding her hand and I closed lined my cousin Marissa. Now, when ever we play she always wants to hold my hand. I try to watch the games but I usually end up going to play red rover. But today I am hopefully bringing my friend Nicole,so we are going to watch the game. For some reasons that most people know.

Shopping with Abby
Abby and I are going to be planing to go shopping. We will go into all the stores. But we will go into Old Navy. Last time Abby went there a cop thought that she had stole from there. When they were really just trying on ugly clothes. Both of our favorite stores are American Eagle.We also like to shop at Aeropostale, Abercrombie, and Hollister. These stores are the "in" stores now days.

What would you do if people said that you would never make it? Would you give up or would you follow your dreams? Well, I know for a fact that Justin Bieber wouldn’t give up, because he never says never! Justin Bieber’s Moto is Never Say Never. It is all about not giving up for what you want or dream about. Which he never said never and look where he is now!
Even thought Justin Bieber is one of the most famous people around right now he is still just a normal kid, like all of us. Justin got started about 4 to 5 years ago when his was in a singing competition in his home town, Canada. Most of his family couldn’t come to see him so his mom, Pattie made a YouTube account. She had posted all the songs that he had sang on there. So many people had been watching them that one day his manger found the videos and loved them. He became obsessed with him. And had gotten a hold of Justin’s mom. He wanted to fly them out to Atlanta Georgia, to meet Justin and try to make a record label. They flew to Georgia and went into a recording studio. After they had finished recording Justin saw one of his idols, Usher. Justin asked Usher if he could sing one of his songs for him. They ended up having a “meeting”. About one year later Usher had signed Justin Bieber! This was the beginning of his fame.
Justin Bieber has done many things with his fame one of those things is his movie. Which is “Never Say Never.” But before that he stared on some TV. shows, CSI. Justin played a bad guy. He also came out with books, trading cards, sticker books, and his latest perfume. Justin is also on the cover of every “teen” magazine. This has been for the last year or so. Also, Justin wants to move on with his acting carrier, he is planning on doing a R rated movie. I don’t think that this would be good because he has younger fans then older. So, the younger fans wouldn’t be able to see the movie.
If you haven’t noticed by now I’m a huge fan of Justin Bieber. When he comes out with something, is on a TV show, or when he is on twitter or facebook I am there to read what he posts. I know pretty much everything about him. My friends think I’m a creep because they will ask me questions and I know them just in the blink of an eye. I always find the latest news and share with my friends, and they never know where I get the information from. Well, I have an app on my iTouch that shows me everything that Justin tweets. Anyway, on to what I have. I have every poster and 220 in my room. I have his silly-bands, his movie, and way more things! But one of my favorites is his perfume, it isn’t even out in stores yet but I went online and pre-ordered it. After reading this I’m sure that you now know that I’m a Justin Bieber freak!

Break
Over our break I am planning on going to a Brewers game, have sleepovers and have some family time. For us family time usually means that we go to my cousin's baseball and soccer games. This Friday I am going to a sleepover with my friend Sara and hopefully Carson and Nicole too! I don't really like watching baseball unless it's my cousin's leage. The biggest plan I have planed is to sleep in. I hate getting up super early. These are my plans for break.

Sleepover
Last weekend Madi and I had a sleep over. We pretty much only watched videos on YouTube because we had gotten board. But before we did that her parents took us to Starbucks. It was good we each got a frape. When we went back to her house we started watching the Justin Bieber Never Say Never movie! But I sadly fell asleep within 10 min. of watching. But that was okay because I have already seen the movie 16 times. And 5 of those times I went with different groups of friends to see it in the theaters! And as usual I was the first on to scream and the first to cry, and I also was the last to scream. Madi and I both like the slow motion hair flip. That was my fun and some what exciting weekend.

I think that bulling is wrong and that too many people do it. I know for a fact that sometime everyone in their life has bulled someone.I have bulled someone and I am not proud of it. Our fundraiser
Madi and I are going to be doing a Fundraiser to help schools either to get a school or get a better school. We are going to be hosting a festival which will include a movie night, games, raffle to win prizes, and possibly some type of a sports game. And we are even still thinking of things to do! We are hoping to raise 1,000$ or more to help the schools. And if our school (or group of friends) raises the most amount of money a special person will come to meet us.

Spring Break
This spring break for me starts on Friday. (Gotta get down on Friday!)Our plane takes off at 7am so we have to wake up at 4am in the morning so we can get our bags cheacked. I don't want to wake up that early. I still havn't started to pack yet! So I will probably be up really late on Thursday. I am excited to go only for the pools and swimming. And I really need a tan!

Justin Bieber
As almost everyone knows I am a huge fan of Justin Bieber. I thought that this picture was interesting because I used to play soccer when I was little. I thought that this picture was cool. Not only because I pretty much love Justin. Even though he is on tour over in England I can't wait for him to come here. Hopefully he will be coming soon. I love Justin!
Responce to "the Hundredth Dove"
If you were getting married in a week and your wife’s name means dove, what would you do? Well in the story “The Hundredth Dove”, Hugh one of the main characters is getting married. And he found that his wife’s name means dove. So, he decides to serve one hundred doves at the wedding. If I was in his place I would not serve them, he could let them go when they get married. The story is a well written book and makes you think to get a connection to yourself.
A different ending that I would have for the story would be more -happy. Instead of serving the birds at the wedding I would let them go after the bride and groom got married. That is what I would change because serving doves doesn't seem right to me. Even though her name means dove doesn't mean that you need to serve them for dinner at a wedding.
When Hugh had to decide what he choice was going to make. Either marry the king's daughter or help the king. If I was ever in Hugh's place I think I would marry. If you love the person and the person loves you back nothing should stop you. But, if you felt that helping the king was more important than I would do that. When Hugh found that the king's daughter means dove he thought that he should serve one hundred doves at the wedding. The king's daughter told him not to but he didn’t listen. I would make sure that Hugh didn't serve them because that could give a wrong impression on people.

Grand Canyon
This year over spring break I am going to the Grand Canyon. At first I thought that it was dumb to go there. But then I looked on line and found where we are staying for the week we are going. Now I can't wait to go. One of the things that I am looking forward to is sliding down the grand canyon on my butt. Also, we are going to be walking on glass above the Grand Canyon. I am so scared. What is the glass would break. So,I can't wait until my trip to the Grand Canyon.

First Kisses
What would you do if you watch dogs for a job, and lost your best friends dog? Well, in the story First Kisses by Jenny Collins Allie one of the main characters in the story opens up a dog sitting job for the summer. And well it doesn't go as planed. Her best friend lets her look after her dog and Allie ends up loosing the dog, but then finds her at a shelter down the street. Allie then learns that she doesn't need a best friend and that she should be friends with everyone.
If I was in Allie's place I would feel terrible if I lost my best friends dog. Allie ended up finding the dog at a shelter down the street, and took the dog home. But somehow her friend found out and told people not to come to the dog care. Allie thought that her summer job was over. But then more and more people came to drop their dogs off the next day. So even though one person said something bad about the dog care doesn't mean that it's true. I would just be very thankful for the people that came and make sure to give them a thanks.
This is just me but I don't think that I would open up a dog sitting job for the summer. To me summer is where you get to relax and just hang out with friends and play sports. But Allie's idea of a great summer was different. At the end of summer her job did very well and she made a lot of money. Even though her summer was great she thought there was something missing, her best friend. But, she realized that to have a great summer you don't need a best friend. In my opinion I think that you should always have a close friend because that way you always have someone to do things with. But in Allie's case the dogs were her best friends.
First kisses is a well written book that gives you a well moral lesson. What I learned from the story was that you don't need a best friend in life. You can just have a lot of close friends. In the book Allie then learns that you don't need a best friend to do everything with, you can just be friends with everyone. Even though dogs can't talk they are good friends to have.
If I was in Allie's place I would feel terrible if I lost my best friends dog. Allie ended up finding the dog at a shelter down the street, and took the dog home. But somehow her friend found out and told people not to come to the dog care. Allie thought that her summer job was over. But then more and more people came to drop their dogs off the next day. So even though one person said something bad about the dog care doesn't mean that it's true. I would just be very thankful for the people that came and make sure to give them a thanks.

Childhood Memory
In 2007 my dad died and I got taken away from my mom. From third grade on I have been living with my Aunt and Uncle. My uncle is my mom's brother. When I was in 5th grade my aunt and uncle decided to adopted me. At the time I didn't want to because I wanted to live with my real mom and I didn't realize what would have happened if I did live with her. When I got to 6th grade I decided that I didn't want to visit with my mom anymore and I was going to wait until I turn 18. Even though I miss her because she is my mom I think that what my aunt and uncle did for me was amazing. They took in another child.
When I got older I started to realize that my mom wasn't the good "guy" it was my dad so I am very grateful what my aunt and uncle did. The greatest memory I have with them so far is last year we went to Mexico and Marco Island Florida. Those were my first vacations. I thought that the air plane ride was the best because I had never ridden on an air plane. Then when we landed I thought that the hotel rooms were the coolest because I got to share a room with my cousin Marissa. It was kind of like a little house. We each got our own beds and a great view of a cool pool and the beach. Those were some of the best times I have spent with my family so far and I can't wait until our trips this year! Family time is some of the best time you can spend.

Volleyball
School volleyball just started. I am on the red team with almost all over my friends. I wish that Jennie was on on my team. Yesterday we had a game at Kewaskum. We lost all of the 4 matches that we played. But I think the reason for that was we won't calling the ball and the school's ceiling was really low. I scored 7 points over hand serving though. The other team has to call a time out because they wanted me to stop serving. Which was cool because I didn't know that. My coach told me. I can't wait for my game tomorrow and I hope I'll pay well.

Wisconsin Dells
Every year for my birthday I get to go to the dells. And my cousins come also. We each get to bring 1 friend. Last year I brought my best friend Nicole. It was super fun and we went to the water park everyday. After we went to the water park one day we went out to eat and a little train brought us our food. I didn't know but my aunt and uncle told the people that were there that is was my birthday. So I got so embarrassed. Because everyone sang to me. Then when I wasn't looking Nicole put a ton of sugar in my soda. I was drinking it and it tasted very weird. After that we went back to the room and had a "party" and played truth or dare. My cousin had to kiss all of the 45 posters of Justin Bieber Nicole and I had in our room. That was my fun trip to the dells!

Papa's Parrot
What would you do if your Papa owned a candy and nut shop? Well in the short story "Papa's Parrot" by Cynthia Rylant Harry one of the main characters and his friends would go to his shop everyday after school. When they started to get older they wouldn't go to his shop any more. Instead they would go to a burger place down the street. This short story is well written and gives a moral lesson.
If I was in Harry's place I would go to visit my dad everyday. Even though when you get older you want to do more things with your friends you should always try to spend as much time as you can with your parents. Even though Harry and his friends thought that the burger place was much cooler, because you could play video games. In my opinion I would want to go to my dad's shop because it's my dad and I would want to spend time with him. So, I would tell my friends that maybe sometime else I could come but I want to spend some time with my dad.
Even though I'm getting older and I want to do things with my friends , my parents still make me have family time. Even though I don't overly like it I still think it's important to have a strong relation ship with your family. Usually I will go to basketball and football games with my friends without my family. 13 Little Blue Envelopes
What would you do if your aunt ran away and you thought she was dead? Well in the story 13 little blue envelopes Ginny one of the main characters finds starts to find out that her aunt really isn't dead. Ginny realizes that she will be getting 13 blue envelopes from her run away aunt. Even though the story 13 little blue envelopes has inspected turns it is a well written book that keeps you guessing.
Ginny and the rest of her family thought that their aunt was dead. But Ginny starts to realize that she isn't, one day she finds an envelope and it's from her run away aunt. If I was in Ginny place in the story I would be confused and wondering where she could possibly be in the world. I would open the letter and do whatever it said. The reason for this is because I could possibly find my "dead" but missing, run away aunt. When she opened the letter it told her to go to London. Which she went to London.
In London she finds a starving artist named Keith. And her aunt's roommate. She then starts to realize that her aunt really isn't dead she is just missing. Mid Winter Break
Tomorrow we have a half day of school and then we have off of school Thursday and Friday. Most people have plans over the break but I don't. I'm just going to stay home and relax. The most exciting thing I have planed for over break is my basketball game on Saturday. Usually we don't have any subs for the games so it gets tiring. I may try to have a sleepover with my friends on one of the days we have off but that probably won't happen. Sadly I don't get to do a lot of things with my friends. Although I'm sure that my cousins have soccer and volleyball over break I'm sure I will have to go to all over their games and matches. Every time I think that I can just relax I usually end up going to all over their games and always have to wake up early. Which sucks for me because I like sleep other wise I'm not so happy the next day. These are my plans for over the mid winter break.

Feeling Sorry for Celia
What would you do if your mom was never home? Also, what would you do if you wanted a boyfriend? Or if your best friend for life ran away from home? And what would you do if your dad wants to take you out to fancy places? To mostly just drink wine. Well the story "Feeling Sorry for Celia" is all about this. Even though Celia is normal, she thinks to be a teenager she needs to have a boy friend.
If I were in Celia's place in life I wouldn't know what to do or say. My mom would never be home so it would be practically raising myself through my teen years and on. And my dad always wanting to do things with me that I usually don't want to do because I'm not an adult. The best way that I would talk to my mom would be over post it notes left around our kitchen. Most of the time she gets notes saying to pick up things and make them dinner and think of words based off of a word. If I had that type of life I would never come out of my room.
How would you react if your best friend for life ran away from home? Well, Celia didn't know how to react and found a new best friend. Which was her dog. In my opinion a best friend is someone that you can talk to and interact with them. Even though Celia thought that her life was ending it wasn’t. She still had a father that wanted a relationship with her. And a mother that loved her. In the end Celia's friend comes back and they decided to write letter to their pen pal. They became best friends again.

Phone or Friends
What would you do if you had to pick between your friends and your phone? I have to pick between your friends and your phone. I have to make the decision to either hang out with my friends or get my phone taken away. I would hang out with friends because you can also also email them them and talk to them at school. Also,it's great to see friends not just texting them. Yeah I'll go with friends. It's better to talk to them in person then text. If you text them all the time it's not good for your social habits. Friends are the best people in your life besides family. I agree you can always just text on your iPod. Not unless you get your iPod taken away. What parents would take you Ipod and phone away from you? I'm not sure. Strict ones, like they came from the military. Then they are really strict. i wouldn't like this at all. I don't like it, it's terrible. Justin Bieber would take it away because he's rude. He would only take and to put his number in it and then he would give it back because he is a nice person.

Justin Bieber Never Say Never
Next week Me and 6 friends are going to see the moive, Justin Bieber Never Say Never. The movie is about Justin Bieber's life in and out side of fame. I have total Bieber Fever and I have already gotten my tickets for the movie. Nicole, one of my best friends said that she was going to scream her lungs out. I want to but then everyone in the theater would look at me and thing that I'm weird. i don't want that. I have been waiting for the movie to come out for almost 4 months probably longer.I'm going to see the movie like 5 times and then I'll end up buying the movie on D.V.D. also. I can't wait for the movie to come out and I'm glad that I get to see it with 6 friends!

Texting
Texting is something that almost everyone does if they have a phone. I got my first phone a year ago. i have unlimited texts but my parents only let me text 1,500 a month. I think that is to low but I have to follow my parents rules. Everyone in my family has a phone and texts. Most of the time I don't listen to them and I go ahead and text as much as I want. To me texting keeps me closer with my friends. Usually instead of texting 1,500 I send about 2,800. I don't know why I can't text as much as I want I don't think it's that big of a deal. They say if I can stay under 1,500 that possibly i could text as much as I want to! That would be amazing for me.

Snow Day
Today we are under a blizzard watch and are going to get up to 2 feet of snow. We are at school and we all want to go home because we know the storm is just going to get worse! Tomorrow we want a snow day because we haven't had a snow day yet this year. Last year we had off 3 days in a row because we kept getting so much snow. If i went home early today and tomorrow i would probably take a ton of naps and have friends come over to hang out in my new basement. I hope school gets called!

Deep Water
How would you feel if you were helpless at a bottom of a pool? Would you feel like your life would be over? I felt that about five years ago when I lost my dad. I just wanted my life to be over just like in the short story Deep Water By, William O. Douglas.
About five years ago I lost my dad. It was a very hard time for me and I felt hopeless and lost. I knew that I couldn't do anything about it and that is how the boy felt in the book when we was going to the bottom of the pool. Even though I couldn’t do anything about it I wish that I could have because my dad and I were very close with each other. Also, in the short story the boy couldn't do anything but he tried his best to make a plan to get to the top of the water to breath. Ever sense my dad died it has never been the same for me because sometimes I get scared about the people that killed them and wonder if one day they would ever come after me.
After, William thought after his experience that he would never swim again or even go in water, he decided one day that he would try again. He ended up swimming two miles. Just like me I had to get the power and nerve to go on with my life and take chances. After about 1 year after my dad died I got taken away from my mom and moved in with my aunt and uncle. Then, I decided to go back to school. That was that best choice ever because I have amazing friends and great support. Even though in the story William got the nerve to go in water again I'm sure that he won't go on with his life forgetting about what happened. I'm sure I never will.

The Pearl Essay
The Pearl By, John Steinbeck is slow moving but many tragic things happen. Kino finds the Pearl of the world and many happy things happen. Then, the tragic parts in the book start to occur. Kino, one of the main characters wants to get anything for the pearl of the world. Although, the story has a very sad and unexpected ending I would rather have the ending be happier and more joyful.
I would want the ending of the book to be happier and joyful because it would be an easier read through of the ending of the book. The sadist part of the book was when the pearl took over Kino and his family and they lost their first born son, Coyotito. I wonder why Kino wanted to keep the pearl? Maybe because he just wanted to be treated different. What would you do if you had the Pearl of the world?

He would go out at night and put the pearl back in the ocean. But when he is trying to put it in the ocean the doctor comes and tries to take it from Kino. Next Kino would make a deal with the doctor that if Kino gave him the Pearl he would have to help his son, Coyotito. Then, the doctor would not be evil and full of hate and cure Coyotito. After that in the end Coyotito would live instead of getting shot in the head and dying. Then, the book would be more happy and joyful because Kino and Juana wouldn't have to go on with their life with out their first born son Coyotito.

What I thought of the Pearl
The Pearl wasn't my all time favorite book in the world but once I got into it I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. At first I didn't like the book because I thought that it was going to slow for me. But once I got about to half way the story really started to pick up the speed. I thought one of the most interesting parts in the book was when the pearl of the world was taking over Kino and making him a different person. If I were in Juana's place in the book I would have also tried to do anything for my child and also if something was trying to destroy my family I would try to get rid of it. I believe the lesson learned in the book "The Pearl" was that never stop trying for something that you love. Like Juana never stopped trying for her family, Kino, and or her first born son. Although in the end of the book their son dies they still go on with there life even though it may never be the same again.

Will the pearl destroy the family?
In the end of chapter 3 I believe that the pearl could over time destroy the family. The reason for this is because at first when they found the pearl of the world things were getting better. For example the baby's swelling started to go down. Also, the doctor then said that he would help them after Kino found the pearl. In the end of chapter 3 things started to get bad. Things happened that could destroy the family. Kino was trying to hide the pearl by putting in under his bed. Someone went in his house with a knife and Kino ended with blood dripping down his face. So, I believe that this problem could over time destroy the family.
The Pearl
I thought that this chapter was important to pay close attention to. The reason for this is because the chapter is talking about the pearl of the world that Kino found. He doesn't quite know what he is going to do with it but if I were him I would try to give it to the doctor to try and help the baby. Even though the baby is getting better because Kino found the pearl of the world the baby is some how getting better. Maybe the pearl is magic? Juana in the chapter is very grateful because they found the pearl of the world and their baby is getting better.
